I travel around world for work, so I pretty much need to make new friends wherever I go to keep myself entertained.  Been dating someone for a while now who does the same thing, so we'll see how well that works out.  I'm a wicked dork and am as cofortable talking about history and food prep as I am going out and catching a movie or grabbing a drink.
